Fresh bmw 5 series to launch in 2010

With an entirely new platform and striking new design in the exterior, the BMW 5 Series is set to be unleashed in 2010. Generally speaking the engineered designs is a huge departure from the present yet ever intriguing E60 5 Series. The “flame surfacing”, however, is remained as is. It is BMW’s design play of concave and convex shapes.

Some of the new BMW 5 Series’ design cues are adopted from the current 3-Series. Examples of these are the rear lamps and v-shaped hood lines that extend down into the front grille bumper fascia, and the coupe-like roof-line that expands down into the quarter panels and luggage lid. In effect, the abhorrent “bangle butt” is gone.
BMW indeed continues to offer its customers a more advanced technology built vehicles as it makes the new BMW 5 Series with more striking appeal to the public. A Flex-Ray high-speed vehicle network architecture (for more agility), new torque splitting all-wheel-drive (which also known as Dynamic Performance Control), refined I-Drive (for an additional driving aid), and a light-hybrid engine system are just few of the new high technology features that come along with this vehicle. As to the engine, the new M5 will retain its V10. It will, however, come with increased horsepower and an 8-speed dual-clutch gear box (i.e. DSG).
The Auto Motor Sports Sweden insider gave the scoop on this new BMW 5 Series and the scoops on the new features were visually presented through computer renderings created by Radovan Varicak, an AMS illustrator.
About the BMW 5 Series
Manufactured by German auto maker BMW starting 1972, the BMW 5 Series is a mid-size luxury car and is also considered an executive car. Now on its fifth generation, the vehicle is currently sold under the body styles of sedan and touring.
The name “5 Series” was derived from its being the fifth of the “new series” cars after the fame of V-8 and Isetta. The “New Class”, the “New Six” 2500/2800/Bavaria and the CS were the preceding models of the 5 Series. It was built with the aim of replacing the smaller New Class sedans and leaving the coupes as the company’s low-end model.
The Series’ body was patterned on the Bertone 1970 BMW Garmisch 2002ti Geneva show car and was styled by Marcello Gandini. He also styled tow other cars tha thave similar designs: the Fiat 132 and the Alfa Romeo Alfetta.
Now there are already 5 generations of the 5 Series. Their identified chassis numbers (EXX) distinguishes them from one another.
The 5 Series was the one that initiated the German auto maker’s tradition of being named with a three-digit number. In the case of this vehicle, the first digit represents the model, and the following two digits are usually representing the size of the engine in deciliters. The main distinguishing characteristics are the last two digits. To define the fuel type used by the vehicle as to petrol or diesel, additional letters or words may be added to the end of the three-digit number. These added letters or words also identify engine or transmission details, and the body style.
With BMW New Class 1500-2000 as its predecessor, all 5 Series vehicles are available with quality assured BMW headlight. These vehicles are similar to Audi A6, Jaguar S-Type, Lexus GS, Mercedes-Benz E-Class, Cadillac STS and Volvo S80.

Alfa Romeo car servicing at low cost

How to save money on your next Alfa Romeo service

Alfa Romeo servicing is now much cheaper, for those in the know.

Thanks to European legislation, you no longer have to be tied to high Alfa Romeo service costs, dictated by your local dealer.

In October 2003 new European legislation affecting the motor industry came into force called “Block Exemption Regulation” 14002002 (BER), and this now means that you can book your next Alfa Romeo car service online and save up to 50% on what you might pay at your local Alfa Romeo dealer.

Before the law changed it was difficult to have new cars within their warranty period serviced outside a franchised dealer. If you wanted to shop around for the best prices on Alfa Romeo servicing, your hands were tied.

The change in the law now gives every car owner the freedom to service their car away from the main dealers, and still have their warranty protected.

Thousands of Alfa Romeo car owners have now taken advantage of their new right and reduced their Alfa Romeo serving costs, whilst benefiting from the convenience of booking with national car service providers such as Service A Car.

Service A Car is a leading online car servicing network that prides itself on the quality of its Alfa Romeo servicing, their customer service and transparent pricing. Because the company is not tied to any particular car manufacturer, they are able to service any make of vehicle and compete freely in the market, on a like-for-like.

Every vehicle is rigorously serviced according to the manufacturer’s servicing schedule, using genuine recommended parts fitted by qualified technicians. This means that every Alfa Romeo car service fulfils the warranty criteria and there is no compromise on the servicing standards of a main dealer.

Companies like Service A Car, who fulfil the warranty criteria when servicing your Alfa Romeo, are able to maintain your service book, just as main dealer can – thereby protecting your warranty and helping you to maximise the resale value of your Alfa Romeo car.

Of course, booking direct with a national car servicing network has its own advantages:

·         You no longer have to do all the running around. Service A Car collects your Alfa Romeo in the morning and delivers it back that afternoon, free of charge

·         You pay a fixed Alfa Romeo service price, which can be up to 50% below the price at the Alfa Romeo servicing desk of your local dealer

·         No additional work is carried out without your agreement, which means no nasty surprises when it comes to paying the bill

·         Trained Customer Advisers are on hand throughout the day to keep you informed of progress, and report back on problems you asked to be investigated as part of your Alfa Romeo service e.g. knocks and rattles

·         Your Alfa Romeo service includes a free wash and vacuum clean

·         You simply pay with your credit or debit card and your car is delivered back to your home or work address.

Our advice for saving money on Alfa Romeo car servicing is to contact a national car servicing network, who is not tied to any one particular car manufacturer, like Service A Car.

So, before you book your next Alfa Romeo service, why not ask your local dealer to tell you the cost of the service (plus parts, oil and any extras) and then compare it with a fixed price quote from a national servicing network, like Service A Car?

Happy motoring,
Howard.
